The original sashiko material usesWoven Pure Indigo thread dyed with skein dyeing, and is characterized by a natural unevenness that runs slightly vertically. This material is made with comfort in mind and has been a standard for many years.
Double weaving using a dobby loom gives it just the right amount of thickness and elasticity without being too heavy. From dyeing the threads to weaving the fabric and finishing it by drying it without using high temperatures, we are able to create a soft and fluffy texture.
